The Bobo Fund

Our Mission
The Bobo Fund is committed to providing assistance to pet owners facing financial hardship, ensuring that their beloved pets with chronic illnesses receive the essential medication they need.

The Bobo Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in July 2024. The Bobo Fund was created in memory of Bobo, a dachshund who was rescued from a shelter in Kentucky at the age of 10 after his owner passed away during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bobo battled with Cushing's disease, hypothyroidism, and chronic pancreatitis. Having firsthand experience with both the emotional and financial challenges involved in providing for a pet with chronic illnesses, The Bobo Fund seeks to alleviate the financial strain on pet owners who are facing hardship by assisting with the cost of essential medications for these pets on a temporary basis.
As pets age, their medical needs increase significantly, often requiring ongoing treatment for chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, and kidney disease. With the rising cost of veterinary care, many pet owners struggle to afford the necessary medications their senior pets need to stay healthy and comfortable. Additionally, many existing financial assistance programs specifically exclude chronic conditions, leaving pet owners with few options for support.
The Bobo Fund seeks to bridge this gap by providing temporary financial assistance to pet owners in need, ensuring that pets receive essential medications to improve their quality of life and prevent unnecessary euthanasia or surrender. Many of the pet owners we have assisted are unemployed, facing eviction, or on fixed incomes, and these financial hardships are not limited to any one region. For this reason, our pet medication assistance program is available nationwide. By providing critical financial aid for prescription medications, our goal is to keep pets with chronic illnesses with their families and out of shelters, one pet at a time.
